Bishop Clayton N. Martin
National Overseer

Clayton Norris Martin was born on September 18, 1956. He is the fourth child of Icille Martin and the late Charles Martin.

It was during his years at High School in 1972 that he accepted Jesus as Saviour and that same year he became a member of the Church of God of Prophecy at Hayes in Clarendon.

In 1977 he entered Mico Teachers’ College at it was there that he met Sonia and they were joined in marriage in December of 1981. They have one daughter – Sheree Kimberly Elizabeth.

In 1987 he was appointed pastor and district overseer for the church in the Cayman Islands.

Under his ministry the church in the Cayman Islands has seen an increase in membership from less than 30 to approximately 215 at the present. In the Cayman Islands he served as member of the Ministers' Association and also as Hospital Chaplain for many years. He has served as lecturer in the then Bible Training Institute.

In 1994 he was appointed a member of the International Assembly Committee for Biblical Doctrine and Policy.

He served the International Church in this position for four years. In April 1996 he was ordained a Bishop.

Bishop Martin was appointed National Overseer for the work in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands in 1998.

In addition he also has the oversight of the work in the Republic of Guyana and French Guiana

Bishop Martin is committed to doing his part in fulfilling the great commission given and as a result he has a passion for evangelism and discipleship.

He is constantly sought out to speak at conferences, seminars, conventions, graduations and church services.

Bishop Martin is a student of the word and has a desire to see the Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands get deeper into the word and into a more intimate relation with Jesus.
