***Men's
Ministries***
Timon Waugh - Men ministries director
Our
Mission
There
are three dimensions to the mission of Men's Ministry in the
Church
of
God
of Prophecy
The
Local, The State/National, and The
International.
These
three are inter-related, but each carries out a distinct portion of the overall
mission.
At the local church, the mission
is to provide a vital ministry within the male context that
results in the building of godly men who exhibit integrity, identity,
intimacy, and influence.
At
the state/national offices, the mission is to affirm, coordinate, and network
local church efforts, and to provide larger-scale contexts for men's ministry.
At
the international offices, the mission is to encourage, facilitate, and provide
resources for building godly men.
Our
Vision
Our
vision is for a vital men's ministry in every local church in the
Church
of
God
of Prophecy. A vital ministry is one
that consistently provides a life-giving flow of ministry to the needs of men,
while at the same time involving them in ministry to others. The source of the
vitality is the Holy Spirit working in and through anointed local leadership.
Our
Goals
We
strive to develop men of integrity who will:
Be
authentic Christians. Stand firmly on godly convictions in all arenas of life.
Live a life of moral, ethical, and sexual purity. Practice honesty and openness
in all dealings.
Be
faithful stewards of all their resources. We strive to develop men of identity
who will:
Be
formed spiritually in the image of Christ. Have a biblical understanding of
their place in Christ
Bear
the fruit of the Spirit.
Discover
and utilize their spiritual giftedness.
Take
Christ as their model for masculinity. We strive to develop men of intimacy who
will:
Be
sincere, fervent worshipers. Practice regularly the spiritual disciplines of the
Christian life. Love,
cherish,
nurture, and affirm their wives. Love, cherish, nurture, and affirm their
children.
Be
accountable to other godly men. We strive to develop men of influence who will:
Be
equipped for, and carry out, the Great Commission. Minister
reconciliation and healing in a broken world. Support, encourage, and
affirm their pastors.
Be
pillars in their local churches and servants in their communities. Seek both to
be mentored and to be a mentor.
